Vancouver, BC Canada – October 04, 2023 – Cooledge announces that it has achieved operational carbon neutrality. The company has established itself as a leader in sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) based on the results of independent audits conducted in 2022 and again in 2023 that place the company in the top 11% of the nearly 300 lighting companies that have been assessed globally.
Cooledge has worked diligently to make sustainability an integral part of its business and continually strives to improve the way we work and the products we sell to ensure our business makes a positive contribution to our world. One of the company’s targets for its sustainability program has been to achieve carbon neutral status for Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions. In its January 2022 Sustainability Report, the company set a target to achieve this goal by 2025. However, based on the most recent results of GHG monitoring, the company was able to reach this important milestone 2 years ahead of schedule.
“Sustainability has become a critical element of operating a responsible business and adds tremendous value to our brand equity. It has grown substantially in importance for our customers and has become a key value enhancer to our already substantial competitive advantage,” said William J. Sims, Cooledge CEO.
In the past year, the company completed 18 CSR initiatives with a focus on improving its environmental performance including the release of a new version of its industry-leading TILE products featuring increases in energy efficiency of up to 34%.
