# Applications: Elevator Lobbies

## Elevator lobbies define first impressions

They're transition zones where visitors, tenants, and employees form opinions about your building in seconds. Yet these spaces face a unique problem: they rarely have access to natural light. The result is often dim, uninspiring lobbies that feel disconnected from the rest of the building.

This lighting challenge is even more critical in corporate, hospitality, and multi-family residential buildings where lobby perception directly impacts occupancy, guest satisfaction, and brand perception.

SkySpan luminous ceilings solve this by bringing the feeling of outdoors inside, creating immersive illumination that feels both natural and vibrant, even without windows. The solution combines large-surface-area ambient light with acoustic performance, meaning you're solving two design problems simultaneously.

#### Why SkySpan Works in Elevator Lobbies:

- Immersive illumination that eliminates shadows and discomfort while supporting visual clarity and well-being
- Superior acoustic performance from large surface area, reducing sound bounce and creating quieter, more pleasant spaces
- Flexible forms that work with curved, sloped, or standard ceiling geometries while maintaining uniform light distribution
- High color consistency that keeps the light feeling natural and inviting across the entire ceiling plane
- Integration-ready design that accommodates building systems (HVAC, speakers, sensors) without compromising light quality

When specifying SkySpan for elevator lobbies, consider ceiling height, architectural form, and color temperature. Your Cooledge team can help you model light distribution and finishes to match your design vision.
